“This is, um, my name is like Shelby Summers, and I’m reporting. I’m reporting live on the scene from downtown where, um, like, we’re reporting on the effects of the -- of the Great Shift here. There were, um, riots, and people. People are upset about being in the wrong bodies. Back to you in the studio, Mac.”
Walter barely breathed while delivering the lines. He had been swapped into the body of reporter Shelby Summers, but he was just an average guy. While he had been nervous about delivering the lines, he was even more nervous about what was going on downtown. There were fights and riots; a fire had even broken out. But would firefighters even show up given the whole body swapping thing? He was sure it would all get out of hand very fast.
He didn’t want to be Shelby Summer; he didn’t want to be a reporter; he didn’t want to be “on the scene;” and he certainly didn’t want to be a woman. Yet here he was. But he needed to get somewhere safe in this body. He needed to get out of here.
