Believe Me
Chuck turned suddenly when he heard the back door open. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his wife standing there.
“Oh, thank God it’s you,” He said, “I thought she followed me.”
“Who the hell are you? And what are you doing in my house?” Chuck’s wife screamed.
“It’s me, Shelly. It’s Chuck. There was this woman on the street who ran up to me with this weird medallion. Somehow it made us morph into each other. She started talking about how she was going to steal my life. I don’t know how she plans to do that. I figured she was going to try to follow me to figure it out. I think I lost her in the thrift store where I bought these clothes. I mean, look at this butt! Having it stuffed in my own suit meant those pants were about to split! Then I came home. Please, you have to believe me.”
Shelly looked very skeptical. After all, there was a woman in the kitchen claiming to be her husband, telling stories about body swapping. In fact, it was all so surreal that it seemed impossible that it was being made up. Could this woman before her really be Chuck?
