Double Take
Natalie did a double take. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a familiar red dress. No, not just the dress, the body too. It looked like an exact duplicate of her and her dress. It seemed improbable to saw the least.
Then she felt a tugging on her arm and a nasal voice pestering her, “Are you looking at other girls again, James? Jesus! I can’t believe you; I’m standing right here, and you still can’t stop your wandering eye?”
Natalie was trying to reign in her confusion. That wasn’t a duplicate of her body; that was actually her body! She must’ve swapped with this James guy somehow. Looking back to the scornful woman now standing next to her, Natalie knew she need an answer. She should even try to explain the bodyswap or come up with a lie?

Mess
Trevor was really regretting bringing the top secret body swapping device home from work. It didn’t seem like much harm until the thing accidentally went off and ended up swapping him with Rosa, his housekeeper. He couldn’t tell her about the device, but he insisted that they pretend to be each other until they swapped back. When his wife came home, he pretended to be Rosa and went about cleaning the house. It was hard work. He took a quick break on the sofa and pulled out the device, attempting to swap back. Something went wrong again, and instead of swapping back to his own body, he swapped with his wife. He had to once again pretend he had no idea how it happened...on top of still pretending to be Rosa. She insisted he continue with the chores despite the swap. Trevor knew his wife’s tall frame would never be able to squeeze into Rosa’s work clothes, and the chores would ruin most of his wife’s outfits. He had no choice but to do the chores in her underwear. He began to clean the bathroom, thinking about the mess he was in. Rosa was in his body. His wife was in Rosa’s body. And he was in his wife’s body. But his wife thought Rosa was him and he was Rosa. Plus, he had to make sure none of them blabbed. Work couldn’t find out. This was a really big mess! And the bathroom was pretty dirty too!

Deserve It
Kyle often wondered what he did to deserve this, and of course, each time he thought back to the day of the Great Shift. He had been working on the construction site when she walked by. He whistled, he catcalled, he encouraged his fellow workers to join in. Then it happened. The bright light. Suddenly he was the one in the body of the woman he had just been harassing. Luckily, post-Shift worker protection laws allowed him to keep his job, even if he wasn’t as productive as before. Then there was dealing with his co-workers. They whistled at him; they catcalled him; all day long.

Working for the Weekend
Work had been piling up, so Jim dragged himself in on a Saturday. There was no traffic on his drive in, but he swerved as a bright light that looked like a bomb exploding engulfed his vision. Except it didn’t kill him. Instead, he found himself in the backroom of a church, wearing a white dress, and he was now in the body of a woman! There was commotion outside; it seemed everyone had swapped bodies with someone else. Jim was in the body of the bride as a wedding. He slipped out the back in all the confusion. He still had work to do. He headed to the office, despite his new body and the puffy wedding dress. He sat down at his computer and it got worse, the internet was down. He sat at the other side of the desk and sighed; he wasn’t going to be getting much work done.

Changing
Michael sure hoped not all women’s clothes were this difficult to figure out. It had taken him almost twenty minutes to put on this swimsuit in the changing room. He told himself that he better get used to he. He was going to be on Exchange Island for the next two weeks, and this was the body he ended up with. His plan had been simple. After checking in, he was going to hit up the beach. He hadn’t expected to take so long getting ready. He realized it might be just as difficult to get out of this thing, and putting on things like a bra were going to be a challenge as well. But why worry about that right now? Now was a time to just go hit the beach and try to enjoy himself. With this great body, that task couldn’t be that hard!

Jealous
Everyone in town thought Mr. Miller was simply a racist old man. The truth was much more complex. He had lived in the small suburban town long before it became a hip location for rich commuters to settle down. He didn’t grumble about the recent wave of wealthy Asian immigrants because he was racist; it was because he was jealous. He was jealous of their youth and jealous of their money. But he had a plan, and he was finally ready to enact it.
He walked to the train station one morning during the morning commute with a crumbled, tattered piece of paper in his hand. He eyed an Asian businessman on the platform and read the words on the paper. Unexpectedly, Mr. Miller found himself quite far from the station. The body swap spell he read couldn’t apparently be aimed so easily. Instead of swapping with the businessman, he found himself in the body of a woman heading to the gym for a game of tennis.
It wasn’t what he had intended at all, but he had no reason to complain. This woman was young, and if she was headed to the gym instead of a job, she probably had plenty of money. Or at least her husband did.

Potion
Just a few more drops should do it. Luke had to be careful to mix the exact right amount of the potion. Then he was going to have to figure out a way to slip half of it into Amber’s drink before downing the other half himself. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but he did have one small advantage. She didn’t know that he knew about the magic body swapping potion that caused their swap. Sure, she had done it fairly stealthily, but once he was in her body, he found her notes in her room, which lead to an internet with the instructions. It meant he could reverse this swap and get his body back. He just needed to get close enough to use it...

Swapped Lives Matter
It seemed that just about every day in the news, there was a story about a young black man being shot by the police for no reason. It was always in the back of Jack’s mind each time he went out. He could tell the look on white people’s faces when they saw his tall stature, large frame, hip-hop style, and dark skin; they were afraid of him. It didn’t seem to matter how mild mannered he was; the preconceived notion was almost always there. He couldn’t imagine what might happen if he was in the wrong place late at night. It didn’t take much convincing to get him involved in demonstrations protesting police violence.
It was at one of these protests where something very strange happened. There was a bright light. Jack had assumed the police had shot some sort of flash grenade into the crowd, but it turned out to be something else, something very different. When the light dissipated, he was in a college dorm room. It got even weirder. Thnigs seemed slightly taller than what he was used to. He soon realized he was no longer 6 foot 4; he was now just a little over 5 feet. And he wasn’t 270 pounds anymore; he was probably closer to 100. And the weirdest part? He wasn’t a black man anymore; he was an Asian woman!
He rushed out of the dorm and back to his own home. He changed out of the dress she was wearing and into his own baggy clothes. Looking at himself in the mirror was a trip -- a small Asian woman dressed in his clothes! It was weird! He thought about heading back to the protest, but if he wasn’t the only one who swapped bodies, he was sure it would be quite chaotic at this point. He still want to support the cause, but he also doubted the police would ever give him any trouble with this body. But then again, being a woman did present a whole bunch of other things he had to be concerned about...

Lesson
Mike was going to watch the big game with his buddies, so he headed to the store to pick up a case of beer. As he walked back to his truck with a case in his hand, he whistled as a woman in the parking lot. All of a sudden, the beer he was holding became an iced tea and the keys became a smartphone. On top of that, he was wearing the stripped shirt and tight shorts of the woman that he had just whistled at, but it wasn’t just that -- he had her body. He had swapped bodies with her! It seemed impossible! You couldn’t just swap bodies with some chick, right? He couldn’t hang out with his friends looking like either. It would likely be more than awkward; they’d be hitting on him all night. He had to fix this. He quickly rushed to the woman now in his body. He begged for her to fix this; to reverse it. She just smiled as she got into his truck, telling him that he just needed to learn to respect women. He’d get his own body back once he learned that lesson.

Open Mic
Taking the stage at the comedy club’s open mic night always took a bit of courage, but Evan had decided to brave it. His first few jokes had bombed, but he was starting to feel like he was building is stride. Then he looked out into the audience and froze. He couldn’t quite believe it, but there was a couple in the front row where a woman’s head was on a man’s body and a man’s head was on a woman’s body. It didn’t stop there either. Above another table was a man’s torso that was clearly attached to long feminine legs in a skirt beneath it. The woman next to him had two very different legs. It didn’t take long before Evan realized that he wasn’t immune from the body part swapping that had hit the room. He was completely changed with all of his new body parts seemingly taken exclusively from female members of the audience. One leg was from a woman wearing a short skirt and black boots; the other (along with the pelvic area)was from a woman wearing black pants and white boots. He had the head of an Asian woman. He wasn’t sure where his torso was from, but he noted that the sleeves on it didn’t match each other along with different color nail polish on each hand meant he probably had the arms of two different people as well. A quick heckle caused him to continue his routine. But he couldn’t help wonder that if no one was freaking out, was he the only one who noticed this all?

Jason discovered the claim slip for his new body’s purse tucked in his bosom. After checking the info inside, he walked to her apartment in a bit of a daze. It wasn’t far from where the “play” had been held, and it turned out to be quite spacious.
At first, he just wanted to go to bed. But as he looked around for pajamas, he was drawn to the rest of her wardrobe. There were plenty of wild outfits like the one she had chosen to wear tonight, but there was plenty of other things too -- though it seemed she mostly wore skirts and dresses. He tried a few things on, feeling a bit more comfortable now than in the outfit he had been in earlier.
He began to dig through papers and bank statement. Jason wanted to know everything about his new life. It luckily seemed that money wouldn’t be a problem; it seemed she had enough investments to simply live off the dividends. A pay stub revealed a job working as a graphic designer -- though this was much lower than the dividend payments. As he explored more and more, he told himself that he could do this. He could live this life. And the more he did this, the more he began to believe it.

Between the period of shock and the conversations, enough time had passed for the room to start to clear out. Jason realized he hadn’t much of a plan for how to live this woman’s life or how to get his body back. The ‘first timer’ comment had struck him. He could return and get swapped again. If he coordinated with his former body, he could buy a lot of tickets, and play the odds until he was himself again. But his own body had already filtered out of the room. Plus, it had been difficult for his friends to get tickets to this show; they were sold out for months. That means he’d be stuck in this body for at least that long.
The gentleman who spoke to him before did so again, “You probably want to go down to the lobby and get your purse from the coat check. You’ll be kicked out of here soon, but I’m sure the contents of that will help you with any adjustment.”
Jason thanked the man for the advice, but he still felt this all seemed so strange.

Jason stood there in shock. How was this possible? How was he suddenly in a different body? He didn’t have much time to think about it as a large, burly man approached him.
“That’s MY body,” The man growled.
Jason struggled for words, “I’m not...I don’t...uh...”
Another gentleman interrupted them, “You must both be first timers. This is ALWAYS what happens.”
“People switch bodies?” Jason finally blurted out, “How does this not get out?”
“There are punishments for telling...”
“But the press!”
“The people in the bodies of the press are no longer the press. Often times, it’s folks who can barely put two sentences together.”
“But why? How?”
“You are full of questions, aren’t you? Have you not heard the phrase that all the world is a stage? This isn’t the performance’s finale; it’s the beginning. And you have been given a new role to play. I can’t wait to see how you’ll act the part!”

Finale (Part 1)
It was called an “immersive theatrical experience,” and tickets sold out months in advance. Jason’s friends had convinced him to go with them, and he had honestly forgotten about it until they reminded him the night before. He looked over many reviews to prepare. They all raved about the play but kept quite vague on the details. Arriving on Thursday night with his friends, he noted that many people waiting in line wore crazy, artsy outfits. Jason felt a little out of place in his t-shirt and jeans, but was thankful he was with his friends who were all dressed in a similar manner. That didn’t last long.
The organizers of the play insisted on splitting up all groups who entered. People were brought in randomly with others they didn’t know. Once inside, Jason felt like it didn’t seem much like a “play;” more like an abandoned warehouse with a strobe light here or there. There was just enough lighting to realize the warehouse actually had an elaborate set design, but certainly not enough light to appreciate it. And, sure enough, after some exploration, there were actors as well. Though much like it felt like a stretch calling this thing a “play;” it also felt like a stretch calling the people inside “actors.” They just seemed to run around, dance, or just do general odd things. For about an hour, Jason wandered around the dark, decorated warehouse before being lead to a large room. The entire audience must have been in there, but it was far too dark to recognize anyone. The strobes became quicker until it became blinding and a sharp noise rang out until it became piercing.
Then it was quiet and the lights were back on. But everything was different. Very different.
Everyone in the audience seemed to be feeling up their own bodies. It didn’t take long for Jason to figure out why. He looked down at his own body -- except it wasn’t HIS body. He was a woman! He was one of those people he had seen come in a crazy outfit. It was gold with tall black boots. Had he seen her come in? He tried to remember what she looked like.
Then an announcement shot out over a PA system declaring that the performance was over. It couldn’t end like this, could it? With a mass body swapping? It not only seemed crazy; it seemed completely impossible!

Throw Up
The Great Shift nearly brought Daniel to tears. He was in a panic when he found himself in someone else’s body. Being a woman was one thing.; he was sure he could deal with things like women’s clothing, makeup, and long hair. But this body was so frail and so thin. He felt weak, like his legs could barely hold up the rest of his body. And he was starving...just like really hungry. Being this skinny just wasn’t natural. He wanted to gorge out on some food, but he realized that things were now worse for him. The thought of doing so made him feel like he wanted to throw up.

Edward hoped off his skateboard and began to walk back to his home again. A trip downtown would have to wait for now. Stilt, he was eager to see people reacting to their new bodies, but most people had cleared out of his neighborhood. He was beginning to think that he should do the same. And, in fact, while he expected to adjust with more time in this body, the opposite was actually true. He was feeling more and more weird as he became aware of all the differences.

Edward knew traffic downtown would be awful right now, probably even worse if everyone had swapped bodies, so he decided the best way down would be to ride his skateboard. However, when he got on, he found riding to be difficult. His balance was all off, and he was sure he was going to fall off any minute if he kept going. He figured it actually made a lot of sense; a new body was going to take some getting used to. It’s muscle memory was different, and he’d have to learn to compensate for a different distribution of weight as well.
He thought back to the heels he had been wearing when he first swapped, realizing that he had walked back to his house in them without too much difficulty. Clearly, this body was used to heels but not a skateboard. He was a bit bummed about this, but he figured that he would have plenty of time to relearn.

On his way home, Edward encountered plenty of other people who had swapped bodies. He was insanely curious about this whole thing, but he wanted to change clothes first. He let himself in with a hidden key and proceeded straight to his sister’s bag. The t-shirt inside was too revealing for his taste, but certainly better than that strange blue bra. The nylon pants seemed far too tight, but still preferable to a skirt. He was glad she had sneakers in there to replace the high heels that were on his feet. Then he grabbed his skateboard and one of his baseball hats and headed outside.
His neighborhood was pretty empty; most people had probably cleared out after the Shift had taken place. If he wanted to talk to other people, his best bet was probably heading to downtown or some place with more people.

Sister's Clothes (Part 1)
The Great Shift was a very weird thing for a lot of people, and this certainly included Edward, who found himself in the body of a woman. It wasn’t just the fact that he had an entirely new gender, but he also wasn’t comfortable in the way this body was dressed. It felt like he was wearing little more than a bra on top and having a skirt on was equally strange. He needed to change.
Fortunately, he recognized the corner where he now stood. His place wasn’t to far away. His own clothes would be much too big, but his sister had left a small bag the last time she had visited; maybe there was something in there that he could wear. He was sure that it had to better than what he was wearing now at least!

Be Someone Else
No one knew the name of the party; no one knew who hosted it; it was never held in the same place twice; and everyone said you never knew what was going to happen. But each time it was held, everyone in Los Angeles wanted in. It was THE place to be. Victor freaked out when he got an invitation one day. Other than the address, the only other information on the card was the theme of the party, which was “Be Someone Else.” Victor didn’t quite understand what that meant, but decided to wear his best suit to the party, thinking it a far cry from the t-shirt and jeans he wore every day to his job in the creative field.
The line to get in was long and slow. As he got closer to the front, he noticed the line split in two with each line going into a different entrance. Each person from his line was escorted in one at a time. When it was his turn, they brought him in and closed the door. He stood in a small room about the size of an elevator shaft. The walls all had green foam spikes on them. Then the color of those spikes began to change, becoming a bright pink. But the room wasn’t the only thing different; his body was too! He was now an Asian woman wearing a revealing gold outfit. As a door on the other side of the room opened, he realized what had happened; he had swapped bodies with the person in the other line. He was literally going to be someone else at this party.
Sure enough, it was a one-of-a-kind party. With all the guests in different bodies, people were both very cautious and very open. But when it came time for the end of the night, he was eager to get back to his own body. But that was the true twist of this event; you didn’t swap back at the end!

Second Chance
Mitch sat on the curb thinking about how crazy his life had become in the past week. It all started after a late night at his second job. His car had just wouldn’t start and he was forced to call a cab that he knew he couldn’t afford. He ended up opening to the driver and explained about how he couldn’t afford anything, how he was working two jobs, and how he could just not have to live his own life anymore. The driver seemed understanding, but remained silent. Things got weird when the ride was over and Mitch ended up swapping bodies with the cab driver. At first, he was thankful to get a complete new chance at life. But after seeing the driver’s dirty, small apartment, he began to think things went from bad to worse. Then he found a journal that revealed a shocking secret. The cab driver’s body would be temporary; soon enough he’d be swapping with another passenger. It didn’t take long; only about seven days. He hadn’t expected to swap with a woman, but that’s what happened. As he sat there in yet another new body, he wondered if this one was finally his chance at a better life. At least, he hoped it would be.

Broke
Anthony was pretty surprised by the app that Danielle had shown him. You took a picture of two people and you could swap the parts between the two people. The weirdest thing was that the changes would also happen in real life. After a little bit, he swapped just about every part of him with Danielle. The only thing left that was still his own was his head. But then he tried to swap things back, but nothing happened.
“I think it’s broke,” He said.
“That’s impossible,” Danielled laughed, “I’ve een using it for weeks! It doesn’t break!”
“No, watch!”
He showed her that he was trying to swipe everything back. She saw that his gestures had no effect, and her smile slowly turned upsidedown.

Revenge
Revenge was such a delicious taste; probably even better than the hamburger Fred was eating right now or the ice cream and soda he had for breakfast. He had been a mostly unremarkable guy for most of his life until he learned he had the magical ability to swap bodies with anyone. He used that power to get back at the women who made fun of him in his youth. The better looking they were, the more he enjoyed gorging on food to fatten them up. Natalie had been quite cruel to him as a kid and now she was particularly hot. He was so eager and more than happy to ruin her figure.

Chaos
Brandon breathed heavily with the gun in his hands aimed at the others in the park. He had come here about twenty minutes ago and unexpectedly been stuck in a situation where he swapped from body to body. It took him a while to figure out that it was due to this odd gun. It took even longer before he ended up in the body of the person holding the gun. He looked out to the crowd. There was about thirty people there, all looking very confused, but also thankful to no longer be swapping around. He’d probably have to sort this out, but he had no idea who was who. He had no idea how to use this gun, and he had no interest in a result that would just continue the chaos. But people were starting to look at him impatiently.

“So we have these bodies, but we can’t fool around? How do they stop us?” Paul asked inquisitively.
“If they catch you,” Mei answered, “The person might not want to swap back.”
“That seems like a worthwhile risk. After all, it is our honeymoon.”
“You’d risk being stuck in that body for good?”
“I just want a proper honeymoon with my wife! I don’t care abut the risk...”
“Well, I hope you’re ready...”

Paul leaned on the bathtub in an attempt to make a seductive pose for when Mei got back from the lobby. When she arrived, she saw him and laughed.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“Well, it is our honeymoon,” He said rather sheepishly, “I figured we should get busy.”
“That sort of stuff isn’t allowed here. What if I got you pregnant? Or one of these bodies gave the other an STD? Besides, I can’t imagine you’d even be comfortable with the thought. Did you adjust to being a woman that fast? In the fifteen minutes that I was down in the lobby?”
“I’m just trying to relax and make the most of this,” Paul sighed.

As Mei went to the lobby to check in, Paul slumped down on the floor of the bathroom. Being in the body of a woman didn’t exactly feel like the most ideal way to spend his honeymoon. After all, it was going to be pretty hard to perform the traditional husband honeymoon duties with this body. Or was it?
Technically, it wouldn’t be impossible. While he was in the body of a woman, Mei was in the body of a man. Technically, it would still be possible ... sort of.
It would be weird being on the other end of things, but Paul was sure he could do it. Heck, he had the right equipment; it was just a matter of will. He’d pose all sexy and greet Mei when she walked back in ... this was going to be tough!

Check In (Part 1)
“Are you alright, Paul?” Mei asked her husband.
“I’ll be alright, I guess.” Paul replied, “I just didn’t expect it to happen as soon as we landed. I mean, I didn’t expect it to happen the moment we landed. I also didn’t expect to be, well...”
“A woman?”
“Yeah.”
“I told you it would be random! That’s half of the fun of Exchange Island. Tell you what, I’ll go down to the lobby and check us in. You stay here and take some time to adjust to that body.”
Paul knew his wife Mei wanted to do something really unique for their honeymoon. He had been a little bit hesitant, but she talked him into Exchange Island for their trip. She had been a few times, telling him each time was completely different, but she had never swapped immediately upon landing before. It was quite jarring to swap right away. Paul was particularly shocked with his new body...

Parts
“You can’t be serious!” Jeff exclaimed, “I tell you to bring me over some clothes for the next few days and you bring me things like this? You never wear stuff like this.”
“It’s your fault we’re stuck in each other’s bodies for the next few days,” Leah smirked, “You said you have to wait for some parts to arrive in order to fix it; that we’ll be stuck like this for a few days. Well, if you’re going to be stuck in my body, you should have to really understand what it’s like to be female, and that means having guys ogle you like a piece of meat.”
“It’s not my fault the machine broke, and you agreed to this swap in the first place.”
“And so did you!” Leah reached into her purse and pulled out a tampon, “And if we don’t switch back soon, you’ll need this.”
Jeff’s heart sunk. He couln’t wait for those parts. However, it didn’t take long for his attitude to change. After a few hours, he was enjoying wearing all the sexy clothes Leah had brought. He felt like he could easily deal with her upcoming period as well. He began to draw up plans to make sure his body swapping device would malfunction a second time once the new parts arrived, ensuring he’d be able to stay in Leah’s body even longer.

Believe Me
Chuck turned suddenly when he heard the back door open. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his wife standing there.
“Oh, thank God it’s you,” He said, “I thought she followed me.”
“Who the hell are you? And what are you doing in my house?” Chuck’s wife screamed.
“It’s me, Shelly. It’s Chuck. There was this woman on the street who ran up to me with this weird medallion. Somehow it made us morph into each other. She started talking about how she was going to steal my life. I don’t know how she plans to do that. I figured she was going to try to follow me to figure it out. I think I lost her in the thrift store where I bought these clothes. I mean, look at this butt! Having it stuffed in my own suit meant those pants were about to split! Then I came home. Please, you have to believe me.”
Shelly looked very skeptical. After all, there was a woman in the kitchen claiming to be her husband, telling stories about body swapping. In fact, it was all so surreal that it seemed impossible that it was being made up. Could this woman before her really be Chuck?
