Winter Break (Part 2)

Once Kurt finally realized what had happened to him, he put his hands up to his head. He felt like he wanted to panic, but for some reason, the only emotion he could muster was joy. He tried to scream, but it only came out as a soft giggle. He found that he wasn’t even able to develop a sense of worry, despite every good rational part of himself that felt like it should be worrying. After all, he didn’t know the first thing about being a woman, let alone what he’d have to do if he was stuck like this and had to assume Chelsea’s life. But it didn’t matter. There was something inside him that told him it was going to be okay, that he was going to like being Chelsea, that he was, in fact, very happy to be her. And so a huge smile came across his face, because he couldn’t help but be happy. It was like being on some wonderful drug, experiencing a joy that he just couldn’t control.

Lewis was escorted from the room down a long hall until he finally arrived at a strange lab where a whole bunch of people in white coats were rushing about. The room was mostly a sterile white except for the large machine in the center, which had sparks flying out and was starting to smoke.

“Please enter the chamber, Mr. Stevens,” one of his escorts instructed.

“In that death trap?” Lewis asked while pointing, “I feel like I’d be lucky to survive even stepping close to that thing.”

“As stated earlier, this isn’t a request. That machine will be properly reassigning you.”

The Business (Part 2)

Nancy had specified certain aspects of the dress that she had wanted Warren to wear while he was in Devin’s body. It should be short and black with pink heels and a wig. Warren bought all the items while still in Nancy’s body. After all, there was nothing suspicious about a woman purchasing such things. Also, since he used Nancy’s money, he wouldn’t have to bill her for the additional expenses later. He hid them near Devin’s house. He took a short break in his own body before switching with Devin and getting to work. Devin’s body looked quite silly in the dress, particularly with his five o’clock shadow. Warren briefly considered the fact that showing up on the trading floor like this might get Devin fired, but he shrugged it off. Most likely, he’d probably just get sent home for the day. Still, Devin would be hearing it from his co-workers for the rest of his life, and that was exactly what Nancy’s plan for revenge was. None of this bothered Warren. He was just doing this all to get paid.

Back on the Boat

There was something in that murky water that had caused the group of friends to switch bodies the moment they dipped a toe in for a swim. Roger wasn’t immune either; he just happened to be the first to notice that he was now in Amber’s body. After everyone returned to the boat, the group of friends drove it back to the shore in absolute silence. It wasn’t until they were back on dry land that they figured out who was now who. It seemed everyone had switched across gender lines, which was going to make the rest of their vacation quite interesting.
“Everyone back on the boat! Quick! Back on the boat!” Roger screamed to his friends, but it was too late.

Conscious

It was painfully obvious to this Chris at this point that he had somehow screwed up the magic spell. Had he cast it properly, he would’ve swapped bodies with the store clerk. Instead, he messed up terribly and found himself trapped inside the body of one of the store’s mannequins up front. There was no way he could ever hope to reverse the spell -- he was completely frozen in place due to the fact that he was now stuck in an immobile plastic shell. What was weird was that he still seemed to have all his senses. He could still see out onto the street, where his former body now lay lifeless. He could still feel. He felt the satin glove on his hand; he also felt the cool air seeping in through the glass window of the store. It was a little too chilly for him, but there was little he could do to change the sleeveless pink dress he now wore. He could hear voices of people in the store, though he couldn’t turn around to see them. He began to wonder how he could do these things -- or even how he was able to think about any of this -- after all, he no longer had nerves or organs or even a brain in his head; he was now just a plastic mold, yet he was somehow still conscious.

Neil arrived at Diane’s office, and the place was going crazy. People were all panicked about being body swapped, but most of the office switched with someone else nearby. Whereas Diane had been a real hardass to get her way; Neil was more understanding and more encouraging. Many were surprised to see Diane’s body act in a soft way, but this softness really seemed to have an effect. Neil suggested that people get back to work to get their minds off their swapped bodies. Productivity for those few hours ended up far above normal. The boss was floored. He immediately offered Diane’s position to Neil and was willing to pay him a huge salary. Neil had to think about it. Sure, it was a way for him to finally get off his mom’s couch for good, but going to work every single day? He groaned. Was that sort of life really for him?

Jim had finally collected everything up off the floor after dropping them from the shock of suddenly finding himself in his sister’s body. He realized that he had a lot to do. His ultimate goal would be to translate that page to hopefully swap back to his own body. However, he still needed to deal with his sister’s boyfriend; he had no interest in going out with that guy tonight! Maybe he should just go back to his sister’s room, change out of these clothes, lock the door, and just get to work. He could throw a couple of these books open and maybe there would be a clue in one of them. He might end up ruining her relationship, but at this point, that seemed like only a minor concern.

Miracle Cream

As Tony rubbed the cream onto himself, he was amazed. It was like something out a spy cartoon! The cream somehow reacted with his skin, making him appear as a completely different person. It was one thing for the cream to make his face appear feminine, but when he rubbed it in his hair, it caused it to grow out. When he rubbed it all over his body, he even got a feminine shape (complete with every single thing needed to be considered female). How was this possible? This cream was beyond magic; it was a miracle!

Discount

Daryl didn’t use his bodyswapping ability very often. In fact, he tried to keep it on the down-low for many reasons, but every now and again, he used it...often in anger. After a long, frustrating talk on the phone with the representative from his cable company, he knew now would be one of those times. And sure enough, as he thought about it, he found himself on the other end of the line, in the cable customer service rep’s body. He looked at his account on screen and gave himself $100 credit. Heck, that was pretty small discount considering all the grief they had given him throughout the years.

Dave realized he wasn’t about to get any help from Andrea any time soon. If she was able to figure it out, she either wasn’t cooperating or refused to accept the fact that she now had his ability. Regardless, he was back to his own devices on this. He coped all the information from the chalkboard into a notebook and brought it home. He didn’t expect a revelation to come to him, but he couldn’t just give up either. He was prepared to run over these equations until his brain hurt. He needed to get back to his own body, and figuring out the math was the only way how. Maybe he just needed to apply himself a little bit more than he was used to. He ended up staying awake all night, but was still nowhere closer to a solution than the had been yesterday.

One Time Use

Carlos had gone to the ATM about a week ago. He had taken out some money to spend on his vacation. Much to his surprise, he found that when he left the ATM, he was in someone else’s body! Inspecting himself, he appeared to be in a gorgeous, young woman around his own age. He shrugged. This was certainly going to be a one-of-a-kind vacation. And for the duration of the week, he enjoyed himself. Women got treated so nicely! Guys bought him drinks, doors were help open for him. But at the end of the week, he wanted to get back to his own life. He returned to the ATM, but there was a sign on the front labeled “Out of Order.” He was worried that he was going to be stuck like this for another day, but what he didn’t know was that once someone was changed by the Automated Transformation Machine, they were not able to ever use it again!

Worker Protection

After the Great Shift, Stan no longer had the physical ability to continue his normal job at the factory, but thanks to some quick worker protection laws passed in the wake of the Shift, the company wasn’t able to just let him go either. As a result, they found odd jobs for him to do in the factory or in the warehouse. Today, he was assigned to clean the floors. He knew this wouldn’t last. The protection laws were only temporary. He’d probably need to find something else to do sooner rather than later. Then again, considering his new body, maybe he’d just be able to find himself a husband?

At one point, Natasha stepped away to take a phone call. Bruce saw this as his chance to take some initiative. He jumped onto the heavier weights, but he soon found that while Natasha’s body was fit, it certainly wasn’t strong enough to take on that much. He found himself struggling to lift the massive weights. When Natasha returned, she laughed upon seeing Bruce’s attempt. She told him that she might be able to amp up his program a little bit, but with her former frame, there’d be no way he’d ever be able to lift that much. Bruce sighed. Despite being in the best shape of his life, he felt weak again...just like he used to feel in his former body.

Dealership (Part 1)

Greg had been working at the car dealership for a few years, but in recent months his sales had been dwindling. A few more weeks like this and he was sure he would be fired. That kind of worry only made it harder to make a sale. He knew he needed to just shake it off and be more aggressive.

On his life-changing morning, he was having a harder time than usual shaking his worry. Other salespeople grabbed customers so fast that he didn’t even get a chance to try to make a sale. It wasn’t until around noon when he saw an Asian woman dressed all in red leaning against a car. None of his co-workers had seemed to go after her, let alone notice her. He knew this sale would be his.

But as he walked over, she quickly glared at him. He froze in his tracks. He thought it was his nerves at first, but there was something almost supernatural about this. It felt like her gaze was now burning into him. He wanted to scream out in pain, but he was paralyzed. And just when he thought he couldn’t take any more, it went away. But he was suddenly now leaning against the car, wearing red. He had become the Asian woman! He looked back to see that his own body had completely disappeared.

“Excuse me, Miss,” One of the other salespeople asked, “How can I help you today.”

Greg didn’t know what to say, but he managed to blurt out, “I’m just looking. I’ll let you know if I need anything.”

Thought About It

Joel had thought about taking his own life almost every day since the Great Shift swapped him into Laura’s body. The only thing that ever stopped him was that he felt it wouldn’t be fair to Laura. She was traumatized enough by the swap; he didn’t want to think of what it would do to her to see her own body in a coffin. And what if he did this and the next day someone found a way to swap everyone back? Still, he thought about it. A few times he came close, dangling a foot off the end of a building top. He was just having so much trouble coping. He knew he wasn’t the only one struggling; he knew he wasn’t alone, but it was just so hard being in someone else’s body...

He didn’t even know this body’s name or anything about her, but he didn’t particularly care either. He knew he could figure it all out. He guessed that he could call the number she had given him, but he wasn’t ready for that, not yet. He wanted to feel it out for a while. With a body like this, he felt like he would never have another care in the world.

Angelica and John fought for a few more minutes before she eventually just demanded that John go sit on the other side of the room by himself for a while. Not wanting to argue anymore, John complied.

It seemed like it was all a big waste of time. Whatever had switched everyone’s bodies must have been powerful; it seemed unlikely that such an event would occur a second time by chance. There had to have been a catalyst. As he thought about it, a shadow appeared above him. He looked up to see Lina standing before him.

“If it means anything to you, I think you are right. They are clueless.” She spoke with an accent. It was weird for John to hear his own voice speak with an accent, but he couldn’t help but smile at her admission.

“There’s another thing,” Lina continued, “You cannot go back to my house. I’m afraid of what my husband would do to you.”

John smile gave wave to a puzzled look, “I planned to go home to my own home. I may be in your body, but I certainly plan to live my own life, not yours. But what is this about your husband?”

Lina averted her eyes. She hesitated before answering, but just as she opened her mouth, she was interrupted by someone bursting into the room.

“Is everyone in here okay?” The person shouted.

Winter Break (Part 1)

Kurt and his three friends had decided to skip going home for winter break. They forgoed seeing their families to head upstate to a ski resort instead. After several days on the slopes, they all decided to explore the woods not far from the resort. It didn’t take long for the group to get separated from each other. At first, Kurt tried to find his way back to the others by tracing his own tracks in the snow, but he was quickly distracted by something in the distance. He walked over to investigate and was amazed by the strange white cloud that seemed to just hover in mid-air. For a moment, it just stared at it. It was like a snowfall that had gotten frozen in time while falling. When it finally started to move, it didn’t fall down, it went sideways towards Kurt, engulfing him for a short while before returning to its place hovering in from of him before finally dissipating. Kurt was in so much awe that he hadn’t noticed the changes the strange thing caused. Worthless

Ever since the Transformation Virus started spreading, people rarely left their homes for fear of being infected. Telecommuting became the norm and roads, bus stations, and airports were often vacant. As the virus spread, many workers soon realized they couldn’t be infected twice and some people returned to work. On the other hand, some thought they could beat the virus. Ed had invested a lot in the latest technologies that claimed to block the virus. Every time he went out on the street, he always wore a mask. It had worked fairly well, and he started to go out longer and longer in preparation for a business trip to Tokyo. He felt sick in the cab on the way to his private jet, but he shrugged it off. However, by the time he landed, it was obvious the Transformation Virus had finally gotten him. He was no longer the man he once was -- he was now a rather skinny and attractive Asian woman. Considering some reports of people’s changes, he didn’t think his was bad at all. In fact, he was already planning ways he could leverage it the upcoming meeting. His head was so engrossing in planning, that he didn’t even remember to take off his mask. Now that he was infected, it was completely worthless!

Hard to Argue

It didn’t matter where Jorge went, reporters would swoon in an attempt to get an interview. He wasn’t surprised. After all, his brain was the first to be successfully transplanted into another person’s body. The donor body was a young woman named Sofia. Neither her nor Jorge had consented to the transplant and the procedure had been done in secrecy with no government oversight. All this made for a very compelling story, yet Jorge was usually quite shy about the whole thing. It was only in a moment of extreme frustration that he spoke this time about his feelings on the matter.

“I’m thankful to be alive,” Was his answer to one reporter, “My body was sick. I didn’t have long to live. What Dr. Collins did was illegal and against my will, but it’s hard to argue with being alive.”

He expected a large invention with chairs and helmets or something. He was starting to think Eileen was just trying to mock him. Reluctantly, he touched the item, and sure enough, he found himself in Eileen’s body. He knew she had explained to him what it would do, but Gavin still couldn’t believe it had actually happened. This device could be huge, and he had the inside track. He knew he couldn’t tell his clients outright, but he was always allowed to drop hints. He couldn’t wait to get a leg up on all the other salespeople. But first he had to swap back with Eileen, of course!

SwapMe (Part 2)

Aaron didn’t even notice the swap until he sat down at his desk and reached down toward his pocket where he kept a pair of earbuds -- only to find that he no longer had pockets. He was shocked. Instead of his pants, he had a short, white skirt on. Even from the first person perspective, he could recognize the body he now had, the body of the woman downstairs! He began to panic until his co-worker Ryan came along.

“What’s wrong?” Ryan asked.

“Do you know who I am?” Aaron asked.

Ryan looked puzzled, “Aaron, are you alright? Did you break a nail or something?”

This time it was Aaron’s turn to look puzzled. Ryan seemed to know who he really was, yet he also seemed to fully aware that he had a woman’s body. It just didn’t seem weird to Ryan. “Do I look strange to you? Am I wearing anything weird?”

Ryan shrugged, “Is your skirt too short or something? It looks fine to me. I think it fits within the dress policy.”

Aaron still hadn’t realized the cause of the swap was the app on his phone. All he knew was that his co-worker didn’t see anything wrong here. Was Ryan he only one? He grabbed flyers promoting the company’s holiday party, needing an excuse to walk around the office. He began handing a few out whle forcing a pleasant smile. A few people addressed him by name, but no one seemed to think it was weird that he was now a woman.

Stay Fit (Part 2)

The weird thing for Bruce was that he wasn’t sick of the exercise. Considering his formerly out of shape body, he never expected to be actually enjoy exercising, but in Natasha’s body it was a breeze. It was the fact that she wouldn’t ever stop telling him what to do. For instance, she insisted he use a certain size weight, even if he wanted to try out one that was heavier. He knew her body could handle it. On top of that, he had to watch her in his own body continue to progress, going from lighter to heavier weights, getting more toned and fit. Despite the fact that he was probably in the best shape in his life, it made him feel like a weakling. Bruce always had feelings of inferiority; it was part of what had caused his overeating in his previous body. Natasha’s workout demands had helped at first. They had given him a confidence he certainly wasn’t used to, but after several years, his natural emotions dragged him down. He felt like he could do more, that her demands were belittling of him, and he was ready to prove to himself that he no longer needed her.

It didn’t work! Thomas was furious. He had known it was a long shot, but he had still been so hopeful. Perhaps he had built his hopes up too much. He knew he was stuck in this body. The thought made him so angry that he began to take his anger out on his work. As he smashed it to bits, he suddenly realized all was not lost. He might not be able to go back to his own body, but with the lens he could still become anyone ELSE he wanted. Any man, any woman, anyone! Maybe he got a little too angry too soon...

Reassignment (Part 2)

There was very little information given to the public about the Reassignment Center; there was very little knowledge about reassignment in general. What most people did know is that once each year, a few select people would wake up with the wrong body and by the end of the day things seemed to return to normal. None of the swapped people ever seemed to talk about (or even remember) what happened, Lewis was brought to a room in the center where he was sat down in a chair. Another man in a suit entered and sat behind a desk reading off some papers.

“Lewis Stevens,” He said, “You are now in the body of Frances McCarthy. She’s a housewife from Arizona. We will help you transition to this new role.”

“Transition to this new role?” Lewis asked, “Look, I don’t know anything about being a housewife or a woman. I don’t know if I want to know. Can’t you just swap me back and I can go home?”

“That’s not what we do here. We do not swap people back. We only help them adjust. This isn’t a request, Mr. Stevens. It’s an order.”

Community Meeting

At the time, it seemed inexplicable. The four neighbors had all gathered for a community meeting when the Great Shift swapped their bodies.

Cheryl, who had swapped with Angelica, pulled out a paper and started drawing, “Here’s where we each were standing when we swapped bodies. Maybe if we stand there again...”

John stood up in protest, “Do you realize how stupid that sounds?”

“John, please be calm!” His wife Angelica pleaded.

“It’s easy for you to be calm! You switched with Cheryl. She’s a beautiful woman; you’re a beautiful woman -- what really chances? But look at me! I switched with that old Asian woman from 21! I was a man; I was young!”

Angelica rolled her eyes, “We’ve all seen your bald spot, John. And Lina is only a few years older than you. Yes, you are coping with a strange situation, but breaking into hysterics isn’t going to help any of us!”

It didn’t take long for Al to lose track of how many drinks he had downed. He was pretty confident that it wasn’t that many, and he was certainly sure it was less than he would usually have. He simply couldn’t figure out why he felt so drunk; he just hadn’t taken into account the fact that his borrowed body had a lower tolerance. The weirder thing was that he was starting to get very flirty. He would bat his eyelashes at various guys or giggle softly. As he stared across the room, his eyes met a man on the other side. They exchanged some glances before Al turned away when a sudden wave of shyness and panic set over him. Al realized he wasn’t acting like himself. This wasn’t the way he flirted, and it certainly wasn’t the types of people he flirted with -- he was supposed to flirt with women! He was a guy at heart. Still, speaking of guys, that one was kind of cute. He returned his gaze, noticing the man had moved closer. His heart pounded; he was feeling nervous as the man approached.

Claw Machine

It had been almost three years since Gavin and Tracy had swapped bodies using the Medallion of Zulu and almost just as long since they had lost the strange piece of jewelry. For the most part, Gavin had tried to put it out of his mind and accept his new life as Tracy. It was truly by chance that he saw the sparkle in the claw machine that he was able to immediately identify. It was the Medallion, the cheap necklace seemed to mock him from inside the machine. He plunked all his change down in an attempt to win the Medallion, but he came up unsurprisingly short. He cursed as he went to a cashier to turn a twenty into more quarters, but in the short time he was gone, the Medallion had disappeared. He was sure he had kept one eye over here, and he hadn’t seen anyone else play. Maybe it got lost in the pile of stuffed animals somehow? He had been so close to finding it again! How did he let it slip through his fingers like that! He could’ve finally gotten back to his own body after three long years!

The Business

Warren never explained to his clients how he could swap bodies with anyone; he merely offered his service to anybody that could afford it. Frequently, people would pay him in order to enact some sort of revenge on an ex. He had just completed a job for a man named Devin Lund. Devin had hired Warren to swap bodies with Nancy Lu. His instructions were to break up with Nancy’s current boyfriend in a humiliating manner. Warren had caused quite a scene at the restaurant, and he was sure Nancy’s boyfriend would never be calling her again. He was ready for the next job.

He looked down at his scheduling book to see the name of the client, Nancy Lu, and the subject of the swap, Devin Lund. He called his assistant to make sure there wasn’t a mistake. Sure enough, there wasn’t. Both Devin AND Nancy had hired him to enact revenge. And what did Nancy want Warren to do with Devin’s body? She wanted Devin’s body to go to work wearing a dress. Warren smiled; that certainly wasn’t a difficult humiliation. He began to prepare for the swap...
