Over the next few days, Al still spent some time on Exchange Island’s beach, but he also spent a lot of time in their offices, hoping to hear some word back about his original body. After about a week, he was given the bad news. They couldn’t find it. His body was either missing or dead. It was a blow to Al. When he was placed in this woman’s body, he had thought it would be temporary. Now it seems it would be his for the rest of his life. He certainly couldn’t go back to his construction job like this!
